Introduction

The the Samsung Galaxy Note9 is now official. It wasn't too hard to guess what the next Galaxy Note will be like - it's a bigger Galaxy S9+ with an S-Pen. But that's us oversimplifying it. This phone employs every cutting-edge technology Samsung has right now and builds on the legacy that once ignited the phablet revolution.
It's been a while since Samsung improved the S-Pen and that's probably the biggest change since the Note8. Sure, there is a new chipset, an upgraded camera, and a larger battery, but the Note8 is still a beast even a year later. The S-Pen on the other hand, every Note's key feature, was put on hold for a few generations. That changes with the Galaxy Note9.
he new S-Pen looks a lot like the old one but has some new eye-catchy color accents. But now it's powered, it connects via Bluetooth, and doubles as a remote control in various use cases. And to make things even sweeter, the Note9 doesn't need a DeX pad for Samsung's Desktop mode, you just need a proper cable. That's certainly one way to reinvent those power-point presentations.

The Note9 design hasn't changed much, and it got most of its internals from the Galaxy S9+ - the chipset, the dual-camera with variable aperture, even the selfie snapper. There are more storage and RAM, of course, and a larger battery, but it's the Galaxy you know.

The application allows people to listen to the millions of songs in its library, as well as upload up to 20,000 of the user's own songs to the service for access elsewhere. The mobile music war just hit a higher note. Google on Friday  launched  its long-awaited Google Play Music application for Apple's iOS. The free application, which is available now in the Apple App Store, allows users to stream millions of songs and create custom radio stations. Unlike Apple's  iTunes  Radio and Pandora, there are no skip limits on Google Music. Those who want to listen to their own libraries also can upload up to 20,000 of their own songs to Google's music cloud service and access those on other devices. INTEL Posts holiday 'Buying Guide' for Windows 8.1 tablets

Intel is trying to give a much-needed boost to Windows 8.1 tablets with a new holiday "Buying Guide." Front and center are tablets  (PDF) like the Dell Venue 8 Pro, HP Omni 10, and Lenovo Miix 2. All of the  tablets  in the guide use new Intel Atom Z3000 quad-core "Bay Trail" processors. The 8-inch Dell Venue (see CNET's hands-on  here ) is one of the highest profile  Windows 8.1 tablets to date because it boasts decent specs with a small price tag of $299 -- at least for a full-blown Windows 8.1 device. Those specs include a quad-core Z3740D Bay Trail processor, an 8-inch 1,280x800-pixel-resolution IPS screen, 2GB of RAM, a full-size SD card slot, Micro-USB charging, and weight of about 0.9 pounds.
